Proficiency testing or round robins - this involves the laboratory assessing reference NIS samples and the comparison of results with other laboratories. Each kernel assessor completes a reference test. The results are compared with other assesors both within and between companies.
Individual lab audit - this audit examines the procedures and systems the laboratory has developed to ensure that the results are accurate and are not compromised by the assessment procedures.
