Where to buy macadamia milk in Australia

It’s the big question for macadamia latte lovers!

The creamy mouthfeel of macadamia milk is a great alternative to cow’s milk for people who don’t tolerate it well or prefer to follow a plant-based diet. Although making macadamia milk at home is a very simple process some prefer the convenience of a commercially made milk – or ‘mylk’.

Although some brands are sold in larger supermarkets, macadamia milk doesn’t seem to have as much shelf-space as other plant based milks, so we have prepared this guide to help you find the leading brands of macadamia milk next time you are looking for a creamy cup!

Milkadamia

Made by Jindilli farms who are passionate about regenerative agricultural practices, this Aussie brand is one that has made it big in the USA. They produce three types of macadamia milk, including original, unsweetened and unsweetened vanilla flavours. They also make a variety of flavoured coffee ‘creamers’ which have a higher fat content than regular milk (and are very popular with coffee drinkers in the States).

MILKLAB

If you’ve ordered a macadamia latte recently, the chances are it was made with MILKLAB macadamia milk. As the name suggests, this macadamia milk was specially formulated for baristas, who say that this milk “complements the intensity of espresso but also textures and stretches with any coffee type.” Perfect if you are serious about finding a plant-based coffee!

  • MILKLAB is available in coffee shops around the country.

Suncoast Gold

Next time you are in the milk aisle of a supermarket look out for the bright pink packaging of Suncoast Gold Mac Milk. Made by one of the biggest macadamia processors in Australia that collect nuts from farms across NSW and QLD, this milk is perfect for drinking straight, in smoothies, over cereal or to use in baking and cooking.

  • Suncoast Gold’s macadamia milk is available at Coles.

macamilk

Another barista favourite, macamilk is a Byron Bay based company. They use high grade nuts from local producers in the Byron region to make this creamy drink. Perfect in a macadamia latte, this macadamia milk can be sourced through cafes.

The Nutty Milk Company

The Nutty Milk Company make a range of activated, cold-pressed plant milks with a high percentage of nut to make them both nutritious and delicious. Their macadamia milk is certified organic too!

  • Available from organic grocers and health food stores in Victoria, and a growing number of similar NSW and QLD retailers.

Inside Out

Sourcing their macadamia nuts from farms in Northern NSW, Inside Out have a variety of non-dairy milks. Their range includes a cold pressed macadamia milk and a macadamia and almond milk combo specifically for baristas
