You had me at no-bake: five yummy no bake mid-afternoon treats

Five yummy no bake mid-afternoon treats

Afternoon tea. It’s your opportunity to take time out in a busy day – even if it’s just for 5 minutes. It’s also the chance for a pick me up snack to avoid that dreaded 3pm slump.

Because we don’t always have time to cook, or we just want to keep things simple, no-bake treats make an ideal snack option. They’re simple to make and easily kept on hand for when you need a mood or energy boost.

We’ve suggested several types of no-bake snacks below. All of these harness the satisfying and healthy qualities of macadamias, so you can keep them in the fridge (or freezer) and know you’ll have a low-guilt snack on hand. And they taste delicious!

Macadamia moments

Macadamias themselves are the original no-bake treat. Their buttery crunch makes them feel like an indulgence, however they are also packed full of plant sterols, fibre and heart-healthy fats. They are a pure afternoon treat and can be easily enjoyed without any extra effort. Simply keep a supply in an airtight container in the fridge.

Macadamia Bliss Balls

Portable snacks

A handful or two of homemade macadamia trail mix is a no-bake treat that is truly portable. Using macadamias, dried goji berries, chocolate chips, coconut flakes, pepitas and a sprinkling of cinnamon, you can create your own perfect snack mix. Pack a container for post-gym pick-me-ups, your office draw or your handbag.

Macadamia bliss balls are simple to make and keep well in the fridge or freezer. High in protein, they are a flavourful, portion controlled snack that’s packed with goodness.

Raw Macadamia and Puffed Rice Slice

No-bake raw slices

Perfect to enjoy with a cuppa, these no-bake slice recipes are a great way to preserve the healthy oils in macadamias as well as their unique texture. This Raw Macadamia and Puffed Rice Slice combines the nut’s creamy texture with the sweetness of medjool dates and the zing of ginger.

For a truly decadent treat, try this No Bake Choc Fruit Macadamia Slice that binds together dried figs, craisins, goji berries and macadamias with a chocolate ganache.

Need something extra special? Create a delicious Raw Macadamia Caramel Slice. This slice is very rich so you only need a small square.
