Macadamias for Mother’s Day

Spoil mum with decadent treats and homemade gifts she’s sure to love

Once again, the day to show mum how much you care is fast approaching. This Mother’s Day, rather than giving the same old flowers and card, why not treat her to something special? From breakfast in bed, to yummy baked treats or homemade gifts, Mother’s Day is easy with macadamias. Here are some of our favourite ideas to show your mum how much you love her.

The above and beyond breakfast

Are you looking to show your mum that she is really awesome? It’s possible with our delicious and indulgent cured salmon breakfast stack with macadamias. You will need to start preparing this well in advance, but we think the effort will be worth it. The final result is delicious cured salmon starring alongside roasted tomatoes, avocado and a dusting of peppercorn, lime and dill macadamias. It’s a brekky mum won’t forget in a hurry – and one that will be hard to top next year.

For a quick and easy breakfast

Another a great way to spoil mum on her big day is by whipping up this delicious macadamia French toast. Super easy to prepare, the standard French toast is given a new spin with the addition of vanilla extract and ground macadamias in the egg-mixture coating. The fun heart-shaped egg in the centre of the toast is also sure to put a smile on mum’s face.

Sweet treats

Nothing says happy Mother’s Day like sweet treats. And our easy-to-bake macadamia shortbread hearts remain a perennial favourite for macadamia-loving mums. And the best part? They take only fifteen minutes to bake. Taking a little longer in the oven, but well worth the effort, our recipe for crisp macadamia bread will delight all mums. Like biscotti, these feather light morsels are delicately crisp, but not too sweet – and they look, and taste, amazing. If your mum loves cupcakes, and you’re a dab hand when it comes to baking, why not give these chocolate macadamia coconut cupcakes a go? Rich and moreish, these cupcakes are topped with delicious chocolate macadamia buttercream icing.

More great gift ideas

Mums don’t just love edible gifts – you can also surprise her with an imaginative body care present. Our macadamia and citrus body scrub is a fantastic chemical-free solution for healthy skin and is so easy to make. Simply combine Epsom salts, raw sugar, macadamia oil, grapefruit essential oil, sweet orange essential oil, and lemon and lime zest for a thoughtful gift she can use everyday. Another great gift idea is macadamia oil lip balm. Macadamia oil is the star ingredient in this silky-smooth lip balm, adding a smooth softness and richness. This recipe is also incredibly easy, and it can be doubled or tripled as required, so you can make as much you like!
